預計於台北時間3月11日在美國洛杉磯杜比劇院（The Dolby Theater）舉行的2024第96屆奧斯卡金像獎，揭曉入圍名單，《奧本海默》（Oppenheimer）、《可憐的東西》（Poor Things）和《花月殺手》（Killers of the Flower Moon）分別獲得13項、11項、10項提名，是本次獲得提名最多的前三名。值得一提的是，台裔美籍導演江松長執導的作品《金門》（Island in Between）入圍最佳紀錄短片。
《可憐的東西》主角兼製片艾瑪史東（Emma Stone），更成為繼另一位奧斯卡影后法蘭西絲麥朵曼（Frances McDormand）之後、再度同時入圍最佳影片並問鼎影后的女演員，她由衷感激地說：「獲得11項提名就像一場超現實的夢，影藝學院讓我同時以演員和製片身分晉身優秀入圍者之列，並且提名許多獎項肯定本片，令我銘感五內。」
